Rainer Wessels

I was born in Hamm in 1985 and grew up there before completing school in Königswinter on the Rhine. I studied film/direction at the Ruhrakademie Schwerte. In 2010, while working on my diploma thesis, I moved to Berlin where I still live and work most of the time.
From 2015 to 2017 I also completed an apprenticeship as an architectural draftsman.

I gained a comprehensive insight into all departments of production and postproduction in film from countless short films. Since my degree I mainly work in the field of script writing, often also as set manager, script doctor and lighting technician.

Through several semesters in the field of photo design, I have improved and expanded the photographic skills I initially acquired as a hobby. While travelling, mainly through Scandinavia, I discovered my passion for landscape photography.

Fiction and the diversity of imagination have always attracted me. From an early age I have been writing stories and poems. I try my hand at different styles and genres in order to exhaust the limited impossibilities.
